Registrar needed a single platform where domain sellers, resellers, and sub-resellers could each manage their own business — with different permissions, different views, and different needs — without getting in each other's way.

Seller (Admin)

Full control — manage all resellers, pricing, system settings, and domain registry.

Reseller

Mid-tier — manage their own customers and sub-resellers within their allocated balance.

Sub-Reseller

End operator — focused on domain registration and customer management only.

Design Decisions

Key choices that shaped the system.

DECISION 01

Same layout, different permissions

All three roles share the same navigation structure — but each sees only what's relevant to them. This reduces cognitive load and makes the system feel familiar even as users move between roles.

DECISION 02

Reseller hierarchy as collapsible tree

The reseller management page uses an expandable tree structure — Master Reseller → Sub-Reseller → Sub-Sub-Reseller. This mirrors the actual business relationship and makes it easy to scan hierarchy at a glance.

DECISION 03

Step-by-step domain creation

Domain registration is a 6-step wizard with a persistent progress indicator — breaking a complex technical form into digestible stages. Each step has a Save Draft option so users never lose progress.

DECISION 04

Dashboard as command center

The dashboard surfaces the most critical info first — wallet balance alert, pending EPP jobs, expiring domains — so operators can triage issues without digging through menus.
